Innovia Films has developed films for a variety of applications and our range offers a variety of grades to satisfy barrier requirements, high performance and also new printing technologies such as digital.

Co-Extruded Film

The Propafilm™ range of coextruded products offers products with excellent optical properties, superior packaging machine performance and optimum product protection.

These BOPP films are available in a range of thicknesses and properties and are suitable for use in many applications. They provide a lightweight, barrier solution to the requirements of most packaging markets.

Multi-Purpose Film

Biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film
co-extruded on both sides with polyolefinic
polymers.

• Heat-sealable on both sides
• Excellent water vapour barrier
• Anti-static protected
• Treated one side for printing and laminating
• Puncture and impact-resistance properties are
   maintained even at low temperatures
• Unaffected by variations in climatic conditions

Applications

RGP is a multi-purpose film suitable for packaging a
wide range of products either in single web form, or
in laminate combinations with itself or other
substrates

RGP15 is particularly suited for use in laminate
structures to provide a lightweight, high barrier
structure for the vertical form-fill-and-seal
packaging of snack foods, for example.

RGP20 is also used in laminates, or as a single web
for lightweight packages.

RGP25 and RGP30 are suitable for both
overwrapping and form-fill-and-seal applications

RGP35 and RGP40 may be used singly as an
alternative to a laminate structure.

Acrylic Coated Film

Biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film
coated on both sides with an aqueous acrylic
(chlorine free) dispersion.

• Heat-sealable on both sides, with excellent hot
  tack
• Excellent barrier to water vapour, flavours and
  aromas
• Low sealing threshold and broad sealing range
• Both sides of the film are receptive to inks,
  adhesives and tear-tapes
• Anti-static
• Superior optical properties
• Puncture and impact-resistance properties are
   maintained even at low temperatures

Propafilm™ RC Applications

RC20 is suitable for use in single web applications or
laminations to itself in both plain and printed forms
on high-speed overwrapping and form-fill-seal
machinery.

RC25/30 are suitable for use as a direct product
overwrap or carton overwrap in the biscuit, bakery
and confectionery industries, where aroma barrier
and optimum product presentation are required.

RC35/40 are suitable for transwrap bag applications
in the confectionery industry where good hot-tack
properties are required.

RC52/60 are suitable for heavy duty applications
where the films' excellent hot-tack and seal
threshold can give superior machine performance
over alternative structures.


PVdC Coated Films

The barrier properties of flexible packaging films are vitally important to ensure optimum product quality and maximised shelf life. Innovia Films offers a wide range of PVdC coated BOPP films which provide high barrier to both oxygen and water vapour.

These films are available in a range of thicknesses and are suitable for single web or laminate applications. They are appropriate for use in overwrap and form-fill seal applications in most packaging markets.

Applications
MTX22 is suitable for high speed overwrapping of

Propafilm™ OS - Applications
0S-20/25 are suitable for high speed overwrapping
applications where exceptional pack appearance and
wrap tightness are required. Particularly suitable for
the magnetic and optical media, confectionery and
tea industry.


Heavy Duty Film

Biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film
co-extruded on both sides with polyolefinic
copolymers .

• Heat-sealable on both sides

• Corona discharge treated on one side, for the
  adhesion of printing inks and adhesives

Propafilm™ RH Applications

RH50 is ideally suited for use as a single ply film as
an alternative to laminate structures in form-fill-seal
packaging applications. Also suitable for use in
tear-tape and cable wrap applications.

Cooking Shrinkable Vacuum Bags

TBPC offer a range of cooking bags are designed to be used in cooking applications for the processed meat and ready meal markets, such as cooked meats and cooked sausage type applications. The variety of bags on offer cover applications such as steam cooking, microwave, dry oven roast and retort(long shelf life) applications
 
Boilable and Microwaveable Bags

TBPC cooking vacuum pouches are an extension of the standard vacuum pouch range, but incorporating special layers that give heat resistance for short and long term cooking applications, such as steam, boiling and microwave cooking.
Available Structures
Dependant on application, we can offer:
•    5 or 7 layer medium barrier material, incorporating polyamide barrier layer and PE or PP high temperature resistant sealant layers
•    7 layer high barrier material, incorporating EVOH & polyamide barrier layers and PE or PP high temperature resistant sealant layers
•    High puncture strength materials for shell fish applications

Oven Roastable Bags

Oven Roastable Barrier Vacuum Pouches
TBPC roastable vacuum pouches are a special development of high barrier substrates with very high temperature resistance incorporating special sealing layers that give heat resistance for dry roast applications. The product can be vacuum sealed and then distributed in the bag, until it is oven roasted by the end consumer.

Available structure
Polyester with barrier coating, laminated to heat sealable polyester.

Available bag sizes
•    Side sealed pouches (2 seal or 3 seal)
widths 150mm to 500mm
lengths 200mm to 500mm (in 25mm increments)
•    Standard sizes: 300mm x 250mm; 450mm x 300mm; 250mm x 325mm

Available thicknesses
The standard pouch thickness is 33 micron. Other thicknesses could be made if large quantities are required.

Flexographic printing is available on one or two sides with up to 8 colours. Pouches are supplied as sandwich print, using laminate structures.

Re-tortable High Barrier Film

TBPC offer a offer very high barrier pouches for high temperature retort applications, for long shelf stable "Flexible Can" applications, such as soups, fish, rice, pet food and other canned food opportunities.

Available structure
TBPC offer  the KREHALON company's owned specially BESELA ultra high barrier coating. BESELA consists of a modified Poly Acrylic Acid(PAA) coating on PET base film.

FEATURES OF BESELA

Ultra high barrier
BESELA's ultra oxygen barrier enables shelf lives of 1 to 1.5 year, which allows BESELA to enter the packaging market segment originally dominated by metal cans, glass jars and aluminium pouches.

Superior heat resistance
BESELA can be used for retort and pasteurisation applications. Contrary to other barrier foils, gas barrier of BESELA improves during retort and boiling.

Abuse resistance
Because of the flexible organic coating, BESELA has a superior abuse resistance compared to other metallized materials. Therefore BESELA is very suitable for (high) retort and boiling applications, institutional heavy weight pillow packs/pouches as well as for usage on high speed forming and filling machines.

Microwavability
As a result of the BESELA ultra high barrier without the need for metallized coatings, the pouches or film can be offered with high transparency and microwave possibilities.

Environmental benefits and consumer convenience
BESELA pouch offers minimized weight and volume compared to metal cans and glass packing. In addition, BESELA pouch, when handled appropriately, is easy and safe to open, to handle and to dispose of. It can also be used in the microwave.

Cooking Pouches – Boilable & Microwaveable

The Barrier Packaging Company offer a range of barrier cooking pouches in 3, 5 and 7 layers incorporating a combination of high strength & heat resistant sealing polymers for applications requiring boiling, steam, and microwave cooking.
We specialise in high abuse applications including shellfish, bone in ribs, produce and bacon & ham products


Gusseted Pouches – back seam

A recent new addition to The Barrier Packaging Company family of products is the gusseted pouch. This is particularly suitable for uniform cubed products where a comfortable snug fit is required. We produce a K-Seal Gusseted Bottom pouch with a back seam using polymers that allow for excellent seal integrity through the gusseted overlap.
It is particularly popular in the cheese industry for 20 – 60kg blocks and hot-fill applications.
Gusseted Pouches can be supplied in standard grades and thicknesses or in High Barrier Grades.
